Thieves are said to have broken into the Electoral Commission EC office at Kodie in the affigya kwabre south constituency in the Ashanti Region where they took some gadgets that are very important to them.
According to reports ,the thieves made away with two laptops that are said to contain some vital information of the electoral commission but is unknown whether or not the robbery incident, which occurred on Friday, June 6, is related to partisan politics.
Police in the Ashanti Region have been said to have arrested two people who they think had a hand in the robbery by name;Eric Oteng Asamoah, 29, and Samuel Nti, 18.
The robbery which happened a couple of days back around 7:00pm lead to the thieves taking some items like 41-inch flat screen television set, ABI Step Down (voltage protector), one HP Laptop and a black and silver colored Omatic Laptop .
The robbers entered the office through the back door and rushed into the EC’s ICT centre where they stole the items and left before they could be caught
Alexander Eshun, a staff of the EC upon getting to work around 9:20pm realized that some items had been stolen which lead to him making a report to the police who started an investigation leading to the arrest of the two criminals.
