Information Ministry to start the installation of 7000 Closed Circuit Television(CCTV) cameras nationwide
The motive behind this is to enhance the security protection of Ghanaians across the country.

The Akufo-Addo administration as part of its policy to ensure the security and safety of the citizenry, through the National Security Ministry is embarking on an aggressive installation of closed-circuit televisions (CCTV) cameras.
Some of the cameras can be seen conspicuously mounted on their poles in areas like Dansoman, Nima, Newtown, Lapaz and at traffic intersections.
The installation which will be a nationwide exercise is necessary in order to keep a tab on marauding criminals and various traffic offenses. In all, it is expected that about 7000 cameras will be installed.
