Back in February when Nadia Mashoud won the Spelling Bee in Ghana, she had high hopes of what 2020 was going to offer.
Among many things, she was looking forward to representing Ghana at the 93rd Scripps National Spelling Bee competition in America.
It was a dream moment for 11-year-old Nadia.
This week, Nadia and her other spelling bee colleagues would have been competing for the greatest honour of their lives.
However, since February, the coronavirus pandemic has become a worldwide issue and it has affected Nadia and her dreams.
However, it seems all is not lost for Nadia.

“The Spelling Bee continues to engage her family and school, to find alternative ways to make her championship year more memorable, when it is safe to do so,” it added.
